AI + EDITING PRACTICES

My approach to editing and the use of AI-assisted tools varies depending on the type of photography I'm creating and the purpose of the work. Regardless of the techniques or tools used, my images always begin with photographs I've captured myself of real people, places, or things. Any editing done is purely with the intention of achieving my creative vision and never in an attempt to deceive viewers or fabricate real-world events that never actually occurred.

EVENT & ADVOCACY PHOTOGRAPHY

My event and advocacy photographs depict real people, places, and events I've photographed myself. I use traditional Photoshop techniques and Generative Fill to remove selected environmental objects and distractions to achieve my intended composition. These images are artistically retouched interpretations of real events, not necessarily unaltered documentary records*.

COMMERCIAL & PORTRAIT PHOTOGRAPHY

My commercial and portrait photography may involve extensive retouching, compositing, light painting, sky replacement, background replacement, and other editing techniques, but all images begin with real photographs of real subjects captured by me. Generative Fill and other tools may be used to modify backgrounds, expand images, and achieve my intended creative vision, but I do not use artificial intelligence to fabricate subjects that were never photographed.
